Single family dwellings, with “in-law” apartment, OK

Home office, as part of residence, OK

Usual outbuildings (sheds, etc.) OK

“Tiny homes” OK as long as design complies with building controls

Mobile homes & house trailers not permitted as residences

No farm animals to be kept on premises

Site Controls – Overview

50’ buffer between any structure (other than fences) and adjoining lot boundary

Minimum front setback as shown on engineer’s drawings

40’ setback from top of bank except for decks

Retain healthy trees with a caliper larger than 6” within side setbacks and on banks to lake or river. This rule does not apply to hemlocks, which can be removed.

Retain healthy trees with caliper larger than 12” in front setbacks

Locate wells and septic fields where shown on engineer’s drawings

 

 

Building Controls – Overview

Roof pitch: Min. 7/12.; 9/12 to 12/12 preferred

Roof overhang (eaves): Min. 12”, preferred 24”

Roofing materials: Asphalt singles, pre-finished metal shingles or prefinished formed metal roofing

Siding: Painted or stained lumber or prefinished fibre cement sheet. Vinyl siding not permitted.

Door & window surrounds: Painted or stained lumber or prefinished fibre cement sheet (min. 3.5 inches) or standard window casing moldings in wood or fibre cement, 2 inch width.
